Director of Children & Youth Ministry

- We work to love every person in the midst of their story and partner with other churches in Lebanon to serve our community. We are a small vibrant church who wants to grow our impact in our community.
- Our church was planted out of Eugene Faith Center in 1985. We are a town of just under 20,000 and have 9 public schools (4-elementary, 2- K-8, 1-middle school, 1-high school, 1- 11th/12th).
Responsibilities - This is a position with dual responsibilities
- Develop and oversee ministry to children ages birth to 5th grade
- Develop and oversee ministry to students, 6th grade – 12th grade
- Disciple children/youth and volunteers to Discover, Grow, and Impact
- Develop supportive relationships with parents of children/youth
- Implement and train volunteers in use of chosen curriculum
- Recruit and train ministry volunteers to disciple children/youth
- Train volunteers in our Child and Youth Protection
- Plan events that reach out to the children/youth in our community
- Pursue continuing education that equips for ministry
- Participate in Foursquare area camps and gatherings/conferences
- Report to Sr. Pastor
Although there are specifically assigned areas of responsibility, we are all called upon to remain flexible in spirit. You will have areas where you will “specialize,” as well as be called on occasionally to function outside your ministry responsibilities. Having a cheerful heart to serve where needed will help us better meet the needs of those that God has entrusted to us.
Qualifications
- Committed and growing follower of Jesus
- Love for children/youth and a passion for ministry
- Meets Biblical qualifications for leadership
- Takes initiative in areas of gifting and in areas that are new or challenging
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Able to recruit, build volunteer teams, develop leaders
- Comfortable teaching children/youth of all ages
- Friendly and outgoing
- Is comfortable using technology and social media
- Experience in communicating with parents
Education/Experience
- Previous experience directing and leading a children/youth ministry including recruiting, training, scheduling, and developing volunteer teams
- Ministry: 1 year or more preferred
- B.A. or B.S. degree desirable
- Theological training and/or coursework desirable
Pay
- Church Size: 50-60 (3-10 nursery/elementary, 5-10 youth)
- Job Type: Part-Time (1/4 time to start)
- Pay Type: Salary – annual salary $10,400 to $13,000
- Pay Range: $20-$25/hour
