Our Church is not for the super-spiritual person.  It's not for muscualr Christians who have made John Wayne and not Jesus their hero.  It is not for academicians who would imprison Jesus in the ivory tower of exegesis.  It is not for noisy, feel-good folks who manipulate Christianity into a naked apeal to emotion.  It is not for legalists who would rather surrender control of their souls to rules than run the risk of living in union with Jesus.

If anyone is still reading along, our church is for the bedraggled, beat-up, and burnt-out.  It is for the wobbly and weak-kneed who know they don't have it all together and are too proud to accept the handout of amazing grace.  It is for inconsistent, unsteady disciples whose cheese is falling off their cracker.

Time is short, and people are searching for the unknown god.  The Apostle Paul has proclaimed to us who that God is.  He is the King of kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.  The time has come for all those who are poor in spirit to come face to face with Him who wants to free us from the bondage of self and destruction.  Who are these people of whom we speak?
It is the ragamuffins of our world.  It is you and I.
Our Church is filled with simple, ordinary folk who know what it's like to live the life of a ragamuffin.  Many of us come from a broken and spirituality bankrupt past that only Jesus could rescue us from.
The only difference is that today we choose to be radical ragamuffins for Christ.
